How much does sod cost in Michigan?
Most farms in Michigan charge per square foot. Some farms charge by the square yard. The difference is usually a reflection of the type of machine they use to harvest sod. One machine will harvest a roll 2'x5' which is 10sf. Other machines will harvest a roll 18"x6' which is 9sf or a square yard. We try to be as transparent as possible with pricing. See price list on this site. It is not uncommon for a farm to charge more for smaller quantities. We have flat pricing across the board, no matter how much you purchase. We take a wholesale to the public approach.
